Started doing a weekend show and eventually took over afternoon drive. The local media critic proclaimed me "Hot Talker for '94".
Then, regardless of steadily growing 12+ and 25-54 numbers, I was blown out for the "Tom Leykis Show". I won't criticize their choice of show, only because I think Leykis
represented, at that time, a light at the end of a very dark talk radio
tunnel. Our shows would have complimented each other on the station. It shouldn't have been a trade off. They instead kept the local guy who was trying to teach social studies on his show. This is the same guy who
threatened to kick my ass once for talking on air about his tobacco chewing habits.
